The Beco Baby Carrier Butterfly original Martini print is on sale.
The Beco Butterfly is the latest version of the increasingly popular Beco Baby Carrier. At first glance it's very similar to the 4th generation Beco. Upon closer examination and trial you can quickly see it has been improved to be more sophisticated and safer to use. The overall look of the Butterfly is very appealing, sleek and modern and is designed for those who seek quality and a unique look in babywearing products.
Here are the highlights:
- Built in Infant Insert
- Ability to place baby in the carrier first and then put the carrier on
- Ergonomic shoulder straps with integrated sternum strap
- Comes with instructional DVD
The new structure of the carrier enables the wearer to place the baby in the carrier first and then to put the carrier on, which many new parents prefer for more control. This is accomplished with the inside panel. For beginner users it is a major safety advantage over other products on the market. The baby is much less likely to fall or slip out of the carrier when the waist belt buckle opens. Also it means a very safe back carry with babies as young as 3 months (or when head/neck control is aquired). The infant could be first in the front carry and then simply switched to the wearer's back, much like a backpack. The baby can also be passed from one wearer to another without taking him/her out of the carrier.
One of the most innovative features of this model, is a built-in infant insert. This enables even the smallest infants to enjoy the ride in the carrier in an ergonomic comfortable position. The baby can sit higher in the carrier. Since the insert base is narrower then the actual carrier base, the infants can comfortably spread their legs, while retaining the recommended position of knees higher then the bottom.
The shoulder straps have been fully redesigned. They are ergonomically shaped to better adapt to the wearer's body and padded with 0.75" foam for ultimate comfort. The sternum (chest) strap is not independent from the shoulder straps (no more lost chest straps!). Rather it's connected to the shoulder straps and
slides along their length.
New prints have arrived with the upgraded buckle system!
Retrofit Upgrade Buckles: The new upgrade buckles have not been integrated on any other baby carrier. These buckles are design by Duraflex, developed for the Police Dept. They do not make the carrier harder or more confusing to use nor does it add a step. The new buckles have 3 slots wherethe webbing is feed through instead of 2, making it much harder for slipping to occur. Once the webbing is threaded it does not need to be removed. You will need to pull harder (about 3x's as hard) than the current buckles. These new buckles actually eliminate a step, making the Butterfly easier to use. There will be no need to feed the buckle and excess webbing under the safety loops.
The base of the shoulder strap is not attached directly to the body of the carrier, as with 4th gen, but to an inside panel, which is attached to the waist belt. The other end of the shoulder strap attaches to the body of the carrier. The straps are fully adjustable. They also consist of a special molded easy to release tension lock and the buckles are placed at the top. The adjustable buckles on the top of the body of carrier enable easy nursing access. The Butterfly has a removable head rest, shaped as a rectangle with rounded edges. The head rest attaches to the body of the carrier with two twill tapes (smooth type of webbing) and a triglides (a rectangular piece of plastic hardware with 3 bars, can be seen on current 4th gen Beco chest strap). The hood can be stored in a special "hood keeper", a sleeve like pocket placed on the waist belt.
